Rocky Mountain Wife by Kate Darby is another hot, but sweet, old west romance Widow Claire is losing her home, her older husband mortgaged it to the hilt and she is trying to sell everything she can before all is lost Her neighbor Joshua offers to buy her horses as a neighborly gesture.Joshua genuinely wants to help Claire and decides that a marriage of convenience will work for them He will pay off her land and join their farms together, and offer protection from men trying to proposition her Claire agrees but is shocked to learn that she may have stronger feelings for her neighbor than just friendliness. There is lots of heat and chemistry between this couple Neither one really wants to get married Claire is still in love with her first husband and Joshua is tired of disappointments but together they make it work This book is really sexy and not prim and proper at all I really like Ms Darby s writing style and passionate scenes The ending felt a bit rushed but maybe an update will appear in the next book in the series.

Rocky Mountain Wife by Kate DarbyAspen Creek Series Book TwoClaire Callahan was about to lose her land and home Her beloved Clay had died seven months ago in the firestorm Every lecherous man in Aspen Creek seemed to be leering at her and offering shelter For a price of course One she refused to pay So when her neighbor offered to buy the land, she could only assume there was a hidden attachment there as well.Joshua Reed lived a lonely life He was happy with it until the day he chose to help his neighbor He owed a debt to her late husband and was determined to help and watch over her, in whatever way he could He just didn t expect to desire her so much. There is a villain about as well A man who does not like not getting his way or people giving him what he wants And he wants Claire and her land This is the second book in this series about five friends who have suffered from the fire that had invaded their land and families months ago In the 1800s these women aren t left with many choices on how to support themselves, and in some cases their children as well The first book is Rocky Mountain Vows Sexual content within marriage

Not nearly as good as the first one..So, I really wasn t getting why Claire was soooo in love with her dead husband when she s so sexual and he hadn t touched her for years Looks to me like she d have been frustrated beyond belief And, you know what I absolutely, positively, without a doubt, hate, hate, hate, the word NEEDY OMG, one author used that word and everyone just thought it was marvelous so now every author who writes about sex in their books use that stupid word Jeez, find something new, would ya From the very beginning of the book you just knew you were going to hate Oliver Sanders And boy, did I He was one sick creep and his daydreams of what he wanted to do to Claire was some kind of depraved He was written very well as a truly disgusting bad guy From the beginning I just wanted him to die And he got worse as the book progressed At 65% I was wishing there was to this story than Claire grieving for her dead husband and treating Joshua like crap I kind of wished he d dump her a This book did have a lot of sexual frustration in it but it was based on masturbation than sex There hasn t been any sex so far, just Claire taking care of herself and have two men watching her without her knowledge I was ok with Joshua seeing it but it was just out n out gross to have Oliver watching her through his binoculars I have to tell you that one of my favorite parts of the first book and this one is the crazy, sexual talk between the four women It is so funny Finally, I didn t like it that they didn t find out who shot Joshua, I mean, we all know who did it because the book told us but it went unsolved at the end of the book, with the sheriff s promise they wouldn t give up until they found out Also, I saw no real reason for Ivy to be there at all She was hardly in the book and Claire didn t tell her that she d married Joshua until about 75 or 80% of the story I m not sure I m going to read the next one I don t like when books are left undone In Rocky Mountain Vows the book was complete and all questions were left answered If I d know this one kinda left ya hangin I doubt I d have read it.I got this book free with KindleUnlimited
